Thracian tale


The original bronze matrix was used to forging a decoration on vessels or jewelry. Found in Garchinovo, Bulgaria. The picture impresses with its unusual detail and plasticity. The central scene represents eagle, deer and griffin ordered one after another. Frieze below is filled with pieces of Thracian mythology as important animals: lion, deer, ednorog, boar, snakes and griffin.
